Build Something That Actually Matters
We're looking for people who want to help Australians make smarter financial choices. Not through buzzwords or flashy promises, but through honest analysis and tools that work.
Get in Touch About OpportunitiesWhat We're Building Here
Financial comparison sounds dry, right? But think about the last time you tried to figure out which savings account actually gave you better returns, or which loan structure made sense for your situation.
Most comparison sites throw numbers at you without context. Or worse, they push whatever pays them the highest commission. We're trying to do something different - give people real analysis they can trust.
Our team in Port Macquarie works on building tools that break down complex financial products into understandable comparisons. We pull data from multiple sources, verify accuracy, and present it in ways that actually help people decide.
Right now we're expanding our analytical capabilities and looking for folks who enjoy digging into financial details. People who get satisfaction from turning messy data into clear insights.
How We Actually Work
Honesty Over Hype
We don't promise people they'll get rich or guarantee specific outcomes. Financial decisions are personal and complex. Our job is providing accurate information and solid analysis - what people do with it is up to them.
Depth Matters
Surface-level comparisons are easy. Anyone can scrape interest rates and throw them in a table. We dig deeper - looking at fee structures, terms that catch people out, and scenarios where a "lower rate" might actually cost more.
Real Collaboration
Our analysts work closely with developers and product people. When someone finds a data inconsistency or spots a confusing comparison, we figure it out together. No territorial nonsense about whose job is what.
Learning Is Part of the Job
Financial products change constantly. Regulations shift. New account types emerge. We set aside time each week for team members to research, learn, and share what they've discovered. It's not extra - it's essential.
Our Hiring Process
Application Review
Send us your details through our contact page. We're more interested in how you think about problems than a perfect resume format. Tell us about a time you had to explain something complicated in simple terms.
We review applications as they come in, usually responding within a week. If we're interested, we'll ask for a brief written response to a real scenario we've dealt with.
First Discussion
A video call with someone from the team you'd work with. Not a formal interview - more like seeing if we're on the same page about what matters. We'll talk about the work, you can ask about day-to-day realities.
This usually runs about 45 minutes. We find that's enough time to get past the rehearsed answers and have an actual conversation.
Practical Exercise
We'll give you a real analytical challenge similar to what you'd face here. Maybe comparing loan structures or evaluating account features. Take it home, spend a few hours on it, show us your thinking.
We're looking at your approach more than getting every detail perfect. How do you organize information? What questions do you ask? Where do you see potential issues?
Final Chat and Offer
One more conversation to go through your exercise results and answer any remaining questions you have. If it feels like a good match on both sides, we'll make an offer within a few days.
Most people who reach this stage hear from us within the week, whether it's an offer or honest feedback about why it wasn't quite right.
Meet Someone From The Team
Freya Kirkland
Senior Financial Analyst
I joined elthoraviaq in 2024 after working at a traditional bank where I spent way too much time creating presentations nobody read. Here, my analysis actually reaches people who need it.
What I appreciate most is that we're allowed to say "this is complicated and depends on your situation" instead of pretending every financial decision has one right answer. My background is in economics, but I've learned more about practical financial products in two years here than I did in four years of uni.
The team is small enough that everyone's contribution matters. When I spot something that needs fixing or have an idea for a better comparison method, people actually listen.
